Summer fun

Fending off summer holiday boredom, well over 80 children took part in three art workshops we ran in August. In Victoria Park, Ashford, a picnic and good weather drew the crowds and artists Jane Sandoe and Kate Emans were certainly kept busy, helping youngsters to create pictures using a wax resist technique and using leaves and other natural materials to print with, draw round and make marks with. At Toddler’s Cove, the numbers were more manageable but we still had 25 children making art inspired by the riverside setting. A smaller group took a walk around the nature reserve at Hothfield Heathlands, gathering ideas and materials before working outdoors on finished pieces.
