The Singleton Environment Centre is a sustainably built events venue, visitor centre and community resource. In the grounds around the centre a range of new habitats have been created, including traditional hedges and a beautiful pond.

About the Site

The Singleton Environment Centre is a sustainably built events venue, visitor centre and community resource. In the grounds around the centre a range of new habitats have been created, including traditional hedges and a beautiful pond.

The centre was built and operated with minimal effect on the environment. It adjoins the Ashford Community Woodland, a green space designed and managed by the local community.

The Centre boasts its own cafe & bistro which serves local and homemade produce.

Visiting

By car

Look out for the brown signs with a picture of a tree for the Singleton Environment Centre

From Ashford, follow the A28 (Chart Road) towards Tenterden. Come to a roundabout with Matalan on your left. Take the 1st exit for B2229 Brookfield Road signed to South Ashford. At the traffic lights take the right lane and turn right into Knoll Lane. Follow Knoll Lane and take the 5th turning on the right, after the bend, into Cuckoo Lane. Take the first right into Wesley School Road. Pass the school on your left and follow the road up and round to the centre.

By bus

The A-Line (ASDA, Stanhope) service from Ashford town centre stops close to the Centre. Get off at Langley Drive, opposite Wesley School Road and walk up Wesley School Road.

By bike

National cycle route 18 runs up Singleton Hill, Bucksford Lane and Chart Road behind the centre.
